LASTOR
The “LASTOR: laser technology for sculpture conservation” project sought to develop a methodology for a laser system designed to analyze and clean stone artefacts of archaeological, historical or artistic worth. It aimed at drafting an integrated methodology for analyzing and categorizing the problems involved as well as developing interventional conservation techniques. Other participating institutions included the Greek National Gallery – Alexandros Soutzos Museum and the Technology and Research Foundation – Electronic Structure and Laser Institute. The Antiquities and Art-Works Conservation Department at the Athens TEI and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ioannina were both involved in an associate capacity.
